Digital Pathology and AI: Learning what matters to patients who have undergone a kidney transplant

I was asked to live illustrate three patient engagement sessions over Zoom, in which volunteers learned about, and gave their feedback about the use of AI in diagnosis.

“Many pathology services in the UK and internationally are undergoing huge transformations in the way pathologists view and analyse tissues samples, moving away from analogue reading of the samples using a microscope to digital images viewed electronically. This concept is referred to as Digital Pathology.”

After the public engagement sessions took place, Dr. Roufosse and her team drafted their report, and I provided them with cropped out illustrations taken from each session.

They were able to run through and see what areas needed further visualisation. I was then able to build upon certain crops and tailor them to the research.

You can read Dr. Candice Roufosse’s report here.
